Yea, if you went and got $4500 out of the ATM (which is impossible, banks only allow you to withdraw $500 a day via ATM) but if it were possible they would have charged you overdraft fee for it at the end of the day when they adjested the balance

If you were really shady you probably could have gone in an hour or so later and closed out your account there and taken that additional money.

I would have reported the error as well. If an ATM gives me an extra 20 or something, it'* mine (and it happened once. Only once tho, dangit). But over 4000 bucks? Pure paranoia would have sent me running back. That'* way too much money for the bank to just say "Whoopsie" over.

But, I woulda checked my balance at least once while it was there. Woulda felt good to pretend for a minute....

What Will said is true. You saved the teller about an extra hour of time in tracking down the mistake. As for going to the ATM, only after the check has cleared will the money be available for withdrawal at the ATM. Some banks will credit $100.00 instantly for withdrawal but usually no more than that. Do yourself a favor and set up automatic deposit with your employer, it sure will save you time over the long haul.

You are one of the reasons I like the BC, it is nice to hang out with persons that have the same values as I do.

I am willing to bet that something nice will happen to you in the next month.
