i tihnk he meant that because its open source, any programmer with talent can help improve it, then submit their improvements and if they are good they get added to the next version

IE is made by programmers too, it integrates with windows a lot, which is a great reason to use it, and the big downfall.

Some things just don't work on Firefox, or don't work as well. Some sites i visit have windows that open when you click a link, with no toolbars or butons just a navbar at top, and scrollers (if needed). Those windows when I try to close them claim to have other tabs running..... Very frustrating.

Firefox can be much faster if you use adblock though. You can set it up to not even Download the ads from ad servers etc, so you're not loading ads while you could be loading pix, or the rest of the page etc.

i read the rest of your post......and open source projects like that just don't take code from any old programmer.......

**EDIT***
but back on the subject....i use firefox 95% of the time.....but since i'm a developer......i need IE for testing since it still holds the majority for users browsers

I think also what dblack is saying is there are more people working on it. Anyone can submit bug fixes, create their own plugins, etc.. [I do what I can for the Project, myself.. but I usually don't have the time these days]. And guys, Netscape is based on Mozilla code . Not to mention Netscape is a gone project. It is no longer developed, but I think you can still get the browser, but there will never be any updates. Mozilla, is here to stay, forever. There are too many people involved to let it die. I wouldn't use anything else.
