That has nothing to do with it. Tickets in the beginning tickets were there as a deterent. Now it is more of income for the government. Hey if they have proof of me speeding I'll pay the fine but if they can't, who'* to say that I did it. Speeding is a misdemeanor in most states, and last time I checked you were innocent until proven guilty not visa versa. Here in California if you get stopped for speeding most fines range from 400.00 to 1500.00 and that is just speeding not for reckless driving. Besides the fine you get what the courts tack on as a penalty assesment. In april I got a ticket for doing 83 mph on my way to Dulles airport in Fairfax, VA. My ticket was only 190.00, I paid it no problem. But then I did a little checking on the issues of speeding in Fairfax, VA and found that there has been a number of cases involving illegal Speed Traps and ticketing for 1 or 2 mph over the speed limit. This is grossly unfair to people. I believe that if you cannot be proved guilty then why pay this is our justice system. If you don't care about how our justice system works then there are plenty of other countries that don't give you rights. Just my 2 and then some pennies!

I never travel w/o a CB. Truckers are my heros somedays! Plus I keep it to 10 over or less if I can help it so IF I get pop'ed it'* not so bad.

Here in VA when I got pulled over I was doing 74 in a 55 and I didn't even see the cop, all I saw were lights and that was it. But for the exceptions I drive into the city daily now and on Rt.66 I will be going 85-90 and trying to keep up with traffic, and cops won't pull you over.

heh... I had one sit in the middle of a parking lot across the street... I didn't see him... And I was getting new tires the next day... So that was expensive. I just drive slower now.
