Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

I think it'* great, but comparing from one country to another isn't fair. Not everyone has the same budget, same money available etc. I think money isn't the problem right now anyways, like mentioned above, getting help to thse regions is the tough part. Many places are still unaccessable except from a helo.

Usually for us it'*, Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. Because of help we've given out, we're expected to help out everything. If we do too little it'* our fault they're suffering and in trouble, if we help too much then citizens aren't happy, and we're expected to fix it even more.

This is a special situation though. with the huge tragedy, and the global scale of the problem everyone can chip in. I'm glad to see that they're trying to help in this way. I am by NO MEANS saying we're giving too much or too little. I'm just commenting on what bothers me of the world view of our aid.

Yes, very true Lakeville. Let them complain, let them stir up a frenzy if they will it; the important thing is that things ARE being done. These are still the critical times after the disaster, with disease and starvation looming concerns. As long as things are being done and cooperation is taking place to help relieve the suffering of those still alive, then that is the most important thing. And remember, Jim - The dead are gone. Their suffering is over. They must be mourned for, and they will be, but for now we must focus on helping those that suffer still, the living. There will be time for grieving after the current dangers are overcome. But, yes, remember the loss. 3,000 died on September 11th. Imagine the blow if we had lost 150,000, all in one day. Keep that in mind. It is important to keep all of it in perspective...

My family gave 100 bucks. Every little bit helps. It'* really up to the citizens. The governments can't do it all.

We have such a huge military machine. I think it is the best use of that manpower and assets to help. I'm glad they are. I think the cash contibutions are terrific too, but the cynic in me worries were my 100 bucks went to.
