Default Should I quit??

So I'm thinking about applying for a job at BestBuy, but I currently work at a grocery store, just started about a month ago. I don't really like it too much for a few reasons:
1) the customers treat me like crap
2) I always am doing carts and now that it'* getting colder outside its a HUGE PITA, plus pushing carts is doing a number on my back and often after work I feel to exhausted to work out...
3) I don't know where anything is and feel really stupid when people ask me where something is and I do not know.
Don't get me wrong, it is not horrible working there, I like all of my co-workers, I just don't like the job.

Here are my reasons for wanting to work at best buy:
1) I know a LOT about almost everything they sell
2) OK this should be the number one reason discounts
3) I shop there often, so I know where everything is

The onlything is the position open at best buy is seasonal, and I don't want to be out of a job as soon as the Christmas Season is over. I heard that if you know what you are doing and don't slack off then they sometimes keep you after the holidays. But, one of the downfalls is that I have already applied there, and they must have forgotten to call becasuse I have never heard back from them. Also, after I applied my dad went up and bought a 57" HDTV and the manager assured him that I was next on the list for a job, and I should be getting a call any day now about the job... never got the call, wierd. So, what would you do if you were in my position.

first get the job at best buy and make sure u have it cuz u dont wanna quit ur current job and then find out u didnt get the best buy job. and good luck on the best buy job. o and u gotta pass the interview first before the hire u in, and if u do get the job the employee discount is nice on home and car audio.

i worked for best buy two years ago, beleive me, they dont treat the employees that well... however that may have changed. Dont let the discounts lull you in to working there
yes you get good deals on some stuff
(car audio up to 60% on some stuff) but on some computer stuff it actully costs MORE to use a best buy associate discount. also if you work there be prepared to buy service on EVERYTHING you buy. also if you quit or when ur seasonal shift ends, they will try to make you bend over and take it if you should have a service plan return.. i only speak from personal experiance on this one.

How can it cost you more to buy PC stuff?

They charge 5% over invoice. You don't have to take your discount on merchandise. Best buy doesn't sell the best stuff, dealing with employees there will be worse as well. Trying to teach a "hick" kinda guy why he'll probably need an RF adapter for his TV to use a Dreamcast thru it was not easy.... Ugh. They screw over ex employees, and employees. They did a shotty install on the car stereo our family got, and wouldn't fix it. There was a hole in one speaker, that i had seen, and heard. They said it was just the fact it'* in a 88 nova it sounds bad. Idiots had no clue what they were talking about.

People think working at best buy is glamourous, even my new employers thought i musta been magical for working there, but in reality it was worse.

My only advice is, if you really don't like the job you have now, find a new one. I've heard good and bad from ex Best Buy employees, but as I haven't worked there, I don't know.

But after having had several crappy jobs, I can tell you, the money ain't worth the stress if it affects your time off. I know I complain about my job, but all in all I like this one. But I have quit several others because they were pure crap. No shame in moving up.
