Oh man, you do FSAE?! I do SAE Mini Baja at my school, worked my way up to co-captain the team next year, even though I'll only be a measly second-year student.

There'* not much wiring for us, and Baja is good because it doesn't take all that much money to do it: the school administration gives us very little aside from shop use, but this situation may be improving soon.
Our car in action
targets for next year:
- at minimum a high/low gearbox to replace the CVT, maybe a 5-speed
- refinement (we're reusing the frame) - weight reduction, etc
- floatation (we do the Baja East competition) - have it float a little higher in the water, re-do water propulsion accordingly
