Default Serp Belt/LIM gaskets 96 GA 3.1

Dad asked me about changing his Serp belt. I popped the hood and after looking around a bit figured it'* time he do LIM'*, coolant flush and a serpy.

Someone that'* done this remind me, I've gotta pull the rockers/rods for the LIM and probably pull the motor mount do change the belt right?

Yup, once the LIM is off, loosen the rockers enough to turn them out of the way, and pull the pushrods, then the gaskets can come off.

Boosty be very careful with the heads on that car... Torque right to the spec and thats it... Too much and you'll be inserting helicoils, at which point it may be easier to remove the head..

And keep the Pushrods in order as the intake and exhaust will be different lengths, I forget which is shorter...

Other than that it shouldn't be a bad job

Also Make sure the Gasket kit has the Oil pump drive shaft O-Ring( Formerly where the distributor was parked )... GM went to the DIS on this engine, but they left the oil pump drive shaft from the old distributor set up.... So there is a plug under the throttle body... Usually with age they tend to start leaking oil there... Sometimes pretty bad..
