Default Sad Days In Detroit

Well its been a sad few days for Detroit RedWings fans. First with our Captain Steve Yzermen Retiring, he has been a great player and a wonderful captain for 22 years, the longest running captain in NHL history, for being 41 years old he was a great player still but too many injuries pushed him out of the game. And now Brendan Shanahan has left the redwings and has signed a deal with the New York Rangers. He was also an awesome player and a great addition to the Red Wings Line up. They both will be missed from the team line up. And now the wings are thinking about singing Eddie Belfour (sp?) which means one of our goalies will be leaving. Both are great golies and are assests to the line up. Legace was the number 1 goalie last season will probably be the one to leave if belfour signs unfortunately, they had discussed that the end of last season. Legace is my favorite player ( hence the 34 in my screen name, his jersey number). This season is going to be an interesting one, hopefully with the absence of Yzermen and Shannahan we can still pull it off.

f*** i am going to miss stevie on the ice ! i think legace is definetly a goner. he was hot during the regular season but i dont think he has what it takes to make it thru the playoffs. whatever " it " is. maybe they can get hasek back ! he is "only" 43 or so ! lol i think the wings will be fine as long as they get a goalie. osgood won a cup but i just dont know if he still has " it ". belfour can go play with federov as far as i am concerned. 41 and coming off back surgery ? cmon ! hey maybe patrick waaaa will come out of retirement ! lol

You remember them winning the Stanley Cup in '01? Could not have been a better game. I hope they can pull it off too.

yea i deffinately don't want belfour... 41 years old, had a 3.92 shots against record, and hasn't played since march 10th because of back surgery...

i really think that legace should have been signed... even though he didn't do hot in the playoffs he was amazing in the regular season. Like i said it will be interesting.
