I'll never forget the footage from a local walmart that was shown on the news when they opened the morning of Black Friday a couple years back...

It showed kids and adults getting trampled, fights breaking out over items, and people getting thrown into displays...

Oh and to stay on topic, I'm workin 7-2.

5am to 1pm (probably later) at Staples. It ought to be fun. I live in one of the 'larger' citys in the area, and we just moved to a brand new shopping center with a Circuit City, Target, Kohls, Michaels, Petsmart, and Giant Supermarket, along with some sweet restaurants. Tis the booming place of the town. I've always closed... as I was one of the only people they trusted to actually do the stuff right. Apparently this year they don't feel they have enough people that actually know how to do the job, plus I'm the Easy Tech, so they want me to promote our tech services to anyone and everyone. I think we're even going out at 5:30 (store opens at six) and canvasing our service agreements and Easy Tech services.

I don't think it'll be all that bad... but it will be interesting as I've never opened on Black Friday (this will be my third one).

I was the front end manager for Compusa for 3 years. Boy I hated Black Friday due to all those dang rebates we offered for that day. I am glad I am out of retail. Very stressful enviroment.

I might have to hit that laptop up but that hd-dvd player can be had right now for $199. Did you mean $99 like walmart did last week?

I used to work at Radioshack and black Friday was just awful.

That day is just horrid.

I'll be at my day job from 6 to 2:30, and then my second job at MicroCenter from 3:30 to close (10PM til we get the store straightened up)

At least I won't be there in the morning...
