How many hours are you guys working on Black Friday? I'm working 19, from 3am to 10pm. It'* gonna be funnnn.

I worked Retail for three years, did lots of OT come Christmast time, however, Black Friday isn't something we have up here in Canada eh, just another shopping day!

Matt, our Boxing Day is basically the same as Black Friday, except the Americans have timed it better, as it falls BEFORE XMAS (after Thanksgiving) whereas ours, falls after we're all prized out from Christmas.
Boxing Day for us is SO useless.

Wake up VERY early, get at the store by 4am, wait for an hour, go in with 499 other people, mob mob mob to get the 200 dollar laptop, then flee, knocking over other people in your way to get to the next "deal"

im not allowed to work more than 8.5 hours [scheduled] any day of the week 
realistically, i will be working from 4am to around 5pm, by "accident".
as for us, the line starts forming a little before 3am; the customers get there before we do. and then they try to get mad at us for not letting them in before we open. last year we had two people actually try to get in with the associates. just tried to muscle their way in. security had to be called up to help out.
FYI: you can get the same deals online with free shipping, without going to the store starting midnight on thanksgiving. and if theres a problem with it when you get it, you can return it to the store.
