i would never buy a reman cartridge for my canon, simply because they do not have the computer chip on the reman cartrideges and it has to be swapped over from your old one...

I worked at hp on 3 consecutive generations of Inkjet. We used to buy and evaluate the refilled cartridges for quality. They lack alot of engineering.

The nozzle shape and size is specifically engineered for one type of ink. Some of the inks have surfactants in them to make them react correctly during firing. And also keep in mind that the ink is fired by boiling it in a fraction of a second so it erupts out. Low-quality inks dry too fast, including during firing sometimes.

Stick with OEM inks for any brand of printer.

Wal-Mart sells a new Canon color printer with cartridges and cables for $30. BestBuy sells the cable itself $19.95. I just buy the new Canon printer every time I need a cartridge, rather than get exploited buying the overpriced print cartridges.

There is a lot of trickery when buying accessories, cables, supplies for electronics. My experience is it is often better to purchase a new exact system than parts and/or assemblies for a system.
