That'* BS and local price gouging. It doesn't really even cost the $0.20 more than 87 octane to produce the 91-93 octane stuff, but they like to keep the their pockets lined don't they.

Consider yourself lucky. In northern MI we have been right around $3.55-$3.65 for pretty much the whole week.

Hehehehe..... here in the cornbelt we've got Ethanol blends. Know what that means?

I can go to any gas station and get 89 or 90 octane cheaper than 87. It'* still around $3 a gallon, but it'* some of the cheapest midgrade you'll find anywhere.

RIght now, gas prices in Galesburg suck.

I figured if they stay at this level, my car'* MPG, and the distance I travel to work, it comes out to 10% of my income after taxes.

4 hours every week, just to pay for the gas to get to work.

If gas stays at these levels, you'll see people demanding raises at their jobs. Increase in the cost of living. Nothing inflates the dollar like a good old gas spike.

I'm spending currently $250/month on gas just to drive to class everyday and work. I only make 700-900 a month too... so, I'm spending anywhere from 28% to 35% of my income on JUST gas. That doesn't even include gas to actually do something FUN either. That is 35% of my income at a full time job too. (a crappy full time job, but still, I'm in college.)

Path of least resistance...

*Need* to congregate and demand the lowering of gas prices. Supply/demand is a driving force, sure, but this is beyond ridiculous.
