Yes a trim fork is a must.

Don't expect to get the oh shit handles out without breaking some of them. Even when you know excatly how to do it, it may still break. After i broke my front passenger one, I broke two more in the junkyard trying to get a replacement. The steel retainers that the plastic clips are held by eventually rust and lock on to the plastic clips making them stick tight, to the point of breaking on removal.

Luckily, I haven't broken anything doing mine, and my headliner has to go back in. I usually break interior pieces but this car is solid as a rock! I broke everything in my damn Blazer.
