I reveived a reply from Canon stating "Thank you for your E-mail inquiry regarding your PowerShot G3 digital camera.

Based on the information in your e-mail, I recommend that you forward your product directly to our Service Department for inspection. Please include your name, address, e-mail address, daytime telephone number, copy of your bill of sale [if it falls within the manufacturers warranty limitations] and a brief description of the symptom(*).

If repairs are not covered under the warranty terms, we will provide you with an estimate pending your authorization. Please understand that it is impossible for us to provide any repair estimates via e-mail or over the telephone. At this time, we do not charge for the estimate from our Service Department. Well the just sucks, I always knew that I had that option available.

Theres a guy named jim that used to be on DPreview.com, he had ans awesome website on disassembling & repairing cammers. Connecters are always problem. I'll see if I can find the addy, he may have some insight.
