Default Hmmm!

What about 3.9L engines taking over for the 3.8L starting with the G6 with supercharged additons (Bonny, GP and GA=reborn). Imagine what supercharged numbers would look like with the 3.9L engine. Yeah!!!

I think that'* take a LOT of fab work to the block itself as well, considering the locations of the camshaft(*) on DOHC and OHV motors, and can't forget stuff like bypassing pushrods.

My thoughts and reasoning have always led me to believe that the higher powerbands of DOHC motors come from the four (or more; 5 in VW'* case, say) valves per cylinder. More, better breathing = higher powerband. DOHC two-valvers are possible, just look at the second generation (1982-1986) Toyota Supra.

Pontiac is cleaning up the exterior. Now they need to be advant-garde in interior. We're talking Infiniti-esqe...brushed aluminum/more cars with carbon fiber trim or simulated carbon fiber on cheaper cars/inviting seats including the look, smoother look of the interior, and more.

They must be up to date with technology features. I see Cadillac and Pontiac buyers being the most tech savvy. Bluetooth, navigation systems with the latest real time alert, smart key, laser cruise control on high line models, drive by wire features, panoramic glass roof, and Scion-like approach to customer personalization by the dealer. Get rid of high MSRP, big rebates, narrow dealer profit low, but use dealer installed accessories as the big profit model.

The Pontiac powertrain offerings for the most part are fine. Their 6-speed FWD automatic is on the way.

I concur. Even Infiniti'* interiors are being called slightly cheapy by the big car magazines, and I certainly was a bit disappointed at the interior of an '01 Caddy STS. Some wood here, some leather there, so what? It didn't look nice for a $70,000 [CDN] car.

They weren't looking for the V8 market with the Solstice. Their primary competition will be the Miata, then the S2000 and Z4 when the blown four comes out.
