This has to be the worst response to any comment on any forum that I've ever made. Also, I will look through my friend'* collection because I think he might still have a Chaintech nForce2 motherboard. The problem with it is that there are no voltage controls, although there is so much flexibility in the overclocking section. If you just want to run the processor stock or a little faster, I'll see if he'* still using the board.
Damn why did it have to be chaintech. (bad expierence.) Let me know I would have like one with voltage control though.

Yeah I have a Pentium 4 Northwood 2.66Ghz running at 3.32Ghz. I know its old, but the overclock does give me a 20% performance boost in many games and apps. Yes, it'* air cooled. $7 Cooler Master socket 478 cooler I got on Newegg.com about 3 years ago

I don't overclock my Geforce 6800 because I killed my last one by unlocking all 16 pipelines (12 stock) and overclocking it. Luckily I was able to get it RMA'd and I sent it back to BFG Tech and they went me a new one.

I might build a Core 2 system soon...but not sure I really need a new system, the one I have is still running mighty strong.

I get ~3.8Ghz out of my 2.8 PentiumD on air cooling.

I did ~600Mhz on my old BP7 Mobo runing dual celeron 366'*. I still have that mobo around but sold the processors for way more than I paid for them.

I haven't really done much with Athlons at all.

Wow, those are good overclocks showing up recently. When you overclocked the 6800, was that a 6800LE or something else? The LE I had was aweseome because I could unlock all its 16 pipelines and get it to run cooler than with 8 lines. The weird thing is that they were fully functional but driver-locked. It'* only that the memory chips were DDR, so they were slower. It went through about 1 or 2 owners before me, and then 2 guys, me again, and I sold it once more. It'* a true overclocker.

As for the FX5500, that'* a pretty high overclock already. Do you get any additional performance? I think you're memory limited for now, so see if you can go higher with the core. Download 3DMark (any version that loops, like 2001 SE), and set it to loop. Wait a few hours, up to a couple days, and if the PC is able to loop that long with no weird pixels or lockups, you're pretty stable. Have you done this sort of testing to check your 290MHz overclock?

Overclockness! :P

Most lounge topics don't have the privilege of maturing like this.

To be exact it was a BFG Tech Geforce 6800 OC 128MB for AGP 8x. It was not a LE. Just plain "vanilla" 6800. I haven't yet overclocked or unclocked the new once cause I already killed the first one. I'm just happy that BFG replaced it, no questions asked. Which is really good on BFG'* part. I really do respect their customer service. It'* been great.

On top of that it only took me 2 to 3 minutes to get a RMA number...I didn't even wait on hold.

Oh, I love those videos! Is it too geeky for me to have already seen them? I guess it'* geeky when your obsession is so great you look for videos of people who share the passion....

But really, those are some crazy videos. I love exploding processors. Did you see the voltages? Crazy. I don't know if I can believe that CPU took over 4V. Then again, how else would it have exploded? I would overclock some of my PCs, but the fire hazard would be too much in my case:
