I LOVE the 87-91 models, mostly simple, and if the 92 and up handle better than THIS, then you guys got it made. I have never felt the handling on mine was substandard, even the newest adoptee with its skinny 14" wheels. I have noticed that its not as good as MrsCrzydmnd'* with 15" wheels.
I have also drooled over the 92 and up models, just ALMOST bought one a few months back that was the same purple as Jasons, but cash was a slight issue then.
I have logged right at 3000 miles with the newest member of our Pontiac family, its been pure pleasure. Maybe I should do myself a favor and test drive a nice recent model sometime.
Its all good!

do the 87-91 models accomodate as wide a tire as the 92+? cause i think my tires are something like 8 inches wide or so? give our take a half inch maybe. and with some decent tires thats quite alot of rubber to the road for a "normal" car....perhaps that could be why ours handle better, these cars do handle though. ive taken corners that ppl are like "i slid all the way around that corner and i was only going 65-70" then i go and do the same thing and it like a sunday drive

I dont know how wide they are in inches, but we just put a set of 60 series tires on MrsCrzydmnd'* Bonneville this year. She didnt want the raised letter out though oh well, its her baby LOL
I think it would actually fit 50 series if I didnt expect to make SHARP turns LOL

mine might be slighty less, but something like that.. i'll measure it tomorrow. Now that I think about it.. 8" is quite a large contact patch.

i just stumbled out into the darkness and the tread width seemed to be about 7 1/2 or so...the tires including sidewall were probly more like 8 1/2-9...note these measurements arent down to the 16th of a inch accurate, it was dark and my wheels were turned straight so its hard to see where the tape was exactly, i was just kinda guesstimating, but the tire width could make all the difference in the world IMO
