The important thing here is that your ok and that this wasnt a permenent injury.
And you recovered only to go back in there and build another peach upside down cake, damn I'm a lucky man

Glad to hear that you didn't get hurt badly!! Sheesh that'* scary. The worst thing I've done in the kitchen was attempt to burn things, exploding pans is a whole new level.

Glad you are OK and not seriously hurt. That is one freaky accident. I have been baking for over 35 years and never had a glass pan explode before I put it in the oven. Any chance the peaches had fermented?

The peaches were fresh, and just recently canned :? So I have no idea what happened, I think the most likely thing is that the pan had a flaw in it of some kind.....I have had the pan for almost 13 years, so it could have just been its time too go. My foot is sore today, but that is because I pulled open the cut when I was walking earlier.
