Well if it were me, and I had it to do over again, and more time to shop around. Id probably try and find an 00-03 SSEi, as theyre probably my favorite body style. Id probably try and go boosted though, I just didnt have time to shop around when I bought my Intrigue, which on that note, why does your year range only go from 00-02? Im guessing youre looking for a 3.5? The 3.5 was also avaiable in 99, so dont rule those out completely.

The 3.5 is a good engine in my experience, tugs my Intrigue down the road pretty good, itll be a big change from your Bonneville in either application you choose.

My preference would be to stick with something that had some power, but still gets good or decent gas mileage, so in other words, rule out most of the V8s in your choices.

Plus I like more of a sleeper image, plus simply the rarity of driving something not typically seen as "fast".

Theres a lot of good choices on there, so much that I couldnt even narrow it down to one, but I say just look around, see what you can find, and make the decision based on the cars you find. But if youre wanting a speed machine, consider something with a sizeable aftermarket. Meaning that the Intrigue, Aurora, and GXP are going to run out of mod options quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Tough choice between the 96 Impala SS and 96-99 SSEi. If you're still holding onto your old car for a daily driver,I'd go Impala, RWD+ slick parking lot= fun.

But like dbeast said, SSEi looks great ( IMO ) and has easy mod potential

But since you put the OTHER option.......my vote would be for an old Jeep J truck sitting on 33 or 35" BFG muds and drop an LT1 under the hood

I really don't know WHAT I would do with the bonne. I probably would not be able to afford the insurance on TWO cars, I have a feeling the SS will pretty much wipe me out insurance wise as it is. The bonne would either be sold, stored or kept.

Well, it would really help if we knew what exactly will happen to the Bonnie, I still say to wait until you decide what will happen to the bonnie and work from there.

And I must play the devil'* advocate, there'* nothing wrong with owning a SE...or a SLE...

I'll throw my opinion in. I voted 92-95 SSEi because the 92-95 styling IMO is the best of the 92-99 years, but if anything, I would have to have a 92-95 SSEi with a S2 L67 dropped in.

Hah, well I think it does! There are a ton more things i could do with it, such as trash it, blow it up, run it off a cliff, donate it, send it to the JY, part it out, scream at it, or even cook up some fajitas on it! So yeah, it DOES narrow it down.

And umm...I am not waiting to see what happens with the Bonne, because I don't think that matters right now. And the reason I said no to L36s is because THEY HAVE TONS OF PITA PROBLEMS.

L36 is a great engine! Just the UIM and LIM, nothing major. Otherwise it'* a highly reliable engine that can be made fairly quick.

I'm biased, but John, I've seen your desktop pic.

2nd gen Aurora 4.0.
