yeah I feel the same about former rental cars, most people who drive those things do things with them they would not do with their own car, plus they have high mileage.

I saw a dvd once where some guy rents a convertible Vette in south Florida. He then takes the car to a parking lot and installs a Nitrous kit. Then precedes to street race it for the weekend.

I'm at 50,000 miles on my ex-rental.. had 26,000 left on the warranty when I bought it... so far so good. Except that it looks like someone took a knife to the defroster grid lines.
But as they say YMMV, especially if you pick up that car! Depends on what you get, thinking you'd be safer buying a minivan or a car rented out as a luxury like the Bonneville. That'* been my plan thus far...
