I still don't see why so many people are confused by this car, or don't like it and prefer the older GM models... It'* got a 256HP V6 that'll scoot nicely, and a V8 that'll go like hell. It'* handling is great thanks to a great chassis and rwd, and it'* nice inside.
When the 04 Comp Gs came out they marketed them as a BMW competitor, which was far from the truth, in reality it was a decent body refesh with the same trans with a few buttons to shift +/-, and a few engine tweaks for more HP. The G8 actually puts it into the sports sedan segment...

Now bear with me here:
GM is an American car company that does business worldwide.
GM owns Holden.
Holden produces all or part of a car that is then sold in America.
GM sells some more cars.
Sounds like win/win to me, so how do you see this as a bad thing?
I am also destined to be a used car buyer for quite some time, and from what I have seen lately, the future used GM car market is looking better all the time.

It should also be noted that the Zeta patform that all of these cars are based on was developed primarily in the USA. It'* part of GM'* new world car program reduce costs by eliminating the practice of producing different platforms for every market.
The practical outcome is that they will be able to reduce consumer costs while increasing the quality of their product.

Not saying I dont like the car. Looks very promising and all reviews seem positive about the cars. I guess rebadging saves GM the money of creating USA etc, exclusive models.
