Yes, it'* the coldest it has ever been this time of the year here on the coast.
-10*C
and we got 6" of the white stuff too. Kids are loving the treat. It is expected to be gone and back to good ol rain by Wed.
Bonne is still up on the jack stands.

I heard it wasn't good to put cars on jacks for long amounts of time... it strechs the springs/coils and allows them to rust easier. But that'* just what I heard. :?

I heard it wasn't good to put cars on jacks for long amounts of time... it strechs the springs/coils and allows them to rust easier. But that'* just what I heard.
No that'* just not right. What a load of crap.
The spings are still slightly under compression even when jacked. If anything it is better because they are under less compression and therefore won't sag as much.

BTW it has only been up there for two weeks.

My other car, 79 Firebird which I also bought new, has often been up on jacks the entire winter season. No problems and still running with stock springs.

Wow. that'* cold... I was working in shorts and a thin T shirt friday..... I think it was nice today too, but i slept til just now..... guess i needed it.... That'* cold.

Advantages:
prolongs tire life (tires don't develop flat spots)
Disadvantages:
besides not being able to move car....none

Another advantage.....you can get the HUD up to an insane speed with no wind resistance factor to consider.

Rather mild here. 19°F, wind chill of 13°F. Freezing rain forecast for late tonight. I won't be driving with the antenna up.
