Most GM cars have it at the top of the motor (for easy removal every 20,000 miles)

Not even! I haven't talked to anybody there since I quit. It'* $69.99 for everybody once you give the old one in.

this alternator might very well be the original 16 year old, 280,000km (174k mi) unit. you get $48 for your old one
