Default Note to midwesterners

Or anywhere else you've been getting the rain we have -

If you have a sump pit, check it out to make sure it'* working. Either fill it with water till the pump kicks on, or lift the actuator (with a broom handle, etc - don't touch it directly. Odds are you wouldn't get hurt if you did activate it with your hand, but where water and current are involved, best to play it safe).

A 5 minute check could save you a whole lot of trouble.

Thx
Matt

Sounds like you had a flooded basement. My 2 sisters and brother in law have been visiting KC all weekend and left earlier to head back home, been raining a lot?

No, no flooded basement for me.... I have a sump pit but it stays fairly dry. I have a pretty steep grade away from my house.

But yeah... lots of rain for the last several days, and a few more projected.
