IMO the vendor should make it clear that their software does not yet work

Well, IMO, you should probably see if the software will run on you Mac before you buy it, numnuts!!!

Most schools have them, or used to anyway, because Apple gives them to 'em. What a great recruiting tool, huh??

Mac Advocacy starts......now: True, not many businesses currently use Macs in the field. Unless you get into audio or video, where Macs have a HUGE market share due to how easy and powerful they are to use. Macs have always had a hand up on PCs in the graphics world. The few years I did web and graphic design, I had a Mac. Never been more productive in my life, either. And everyone is going to bitch because they can't figure out OS X.....but that'* because they've used PCs for so long, and refuse to learn a new system. When people upgraded from Win3.1 to Win95, remember the complaining? "It'* not where it should be! I can't find it!" and on and on and on. When you go to a new OS, there WILL BE a learning curve. If you can't find something and give up and blame in on "oh, it'* a mac, it'* hard to use", then you're just as bad as someone saying "BMW'* iDrive is superior, but it'* hard to use, so i'm going to drive my Geo instead."

:: pauses to take a breath ::

IE WAS available on the Mac, until Microsoft decided that they were going to discontinue support for IE and Office to try to discourage people from buying Macs. Since that decision has been made, I believe Office has regained support but IE has not. Which is nothing to be sad about, OS X comes with Safari, and Firefox is available on the Mac as well. Heck, Opera is still available and I believe they're still releasing updates for it. All of these are superior to IE anyways; if you're yearning for more Microsoft products, don't go to a Mac! Part of the main reason a lot of people go to Macs is to quit their addiction to MS products!

Yes, since going to the Intel Duo core, they have had issues with programs not running under the new architecture. Will your WinXP PC run every program made for Win3.1? Win98? No, but it will run MOST of the programs. Same thing, different platform. Programs are constantly being updated to run under the Intel Duo, it'* just a matter of time before program xxxxxxx will run under the new architecture.

Okay. Gotta go to class.
