I went to the store today and sitting in the parking lot was a 2004 or 2005 Impala SS. The car was black on black with tinted windows and there was, what looked like a Daytona emblem on the front fenders right behind the wheels. It was the tire with the wings emblems. Did Chevy make a special edition or is this just a really well placed, factory like, emblem?

That was a 2004. 2004 was the only year that GM made the Impala SS. It'* basically a regular Impala, but it came stock with gray interior (w/ leather), only available in black, had a moonroof. And, the most important feature: an L67. The only Impala to be supercharged from the factory.

Yes. Definitely. We checked into getting one.
