I just got a d600 from DFS (same mobo & chassis as 600m) P-M 1.7ghz, 1GB, 100GB 7200RPM, SXGA, DVDRW, and so far spent less than 700 in total

Mine is about 2 years old with 1 year of accidental coverage left......got the upgrades off ebay and newegg. 7200rpm pwn the 4200 that come with these. If I smash the system out of anger dell will send me a new unit and have it there the next day :P

The video card sucks and I cant run Vista very well though.

but yeah...go uh buy a dell because 30% of my bonus next month is based strictly on the companys revenue

Go Dell. Got two desktops. Dell Dimension 8200 2.4ghz and still going strong. The other one is a dimension 4550 2.66 ghz. Never had a problem with either one.

You'd be pleased with me, Hans. I think that I have purchased 11 or so Dells in the past 2-3 years, mostly for family members

Latitude XPi (customer)
Latitude D600 (family)
Inspiron 5100 (customer)
Dimension 2400 (family)
Dimension 2400 (family)
Inspiron 1200 (family)
Inspiron 2200 (family)
Inspiron 2200 (family)
Inspiron 2200 (family)
Inspiron 2200 (me)
Inspiron 600M (me)

Wish I would have bought 600m'* instead of the 1200 and 2200s (my wife is getting the 600m) but they are all decent.
