Chynna leaves to go to school in another city in two months.
She just turned 19 today.
She has been partying all weekend.
I bought her a Dell Laptop Inspiron 9400 with all the bell and whistles.
Legal drinking age is 19 here.
She'* an adult now in the eyes of the law.......until we go to Oregon and it'* 21.

Her school costs and room and board are all paid for.
My ace in the hole.
Victor'* is also.
If it weren't for that I'd be fooked and would have no choice but to work for ever until I die.

After that they are on their own. They have to accept getting pushed out of the nest. I won't have my children hangiing on to me like a crutch. It'* their turn to grow and become independent.

Digging up an old thread for an update on my "New Life"

Chynna didn't make it to school. Her grades were so poor her grant was rejected. She hasn't found a job yet and the part time one she had all summer has been reduced to Saturdays only. :(
She is still rejecting the rich employed guys and going out with the poor unemployed bums living at home in a messy room and not helping out with chores.

We are still spending way too much money.

My old job ends in two weeks. :(

The good news is I have 5 companies fighting over employing me with part time contract work that pays me $60 - $80 per hour......they charge me out at $100 - $120. I think once I get the hang of the change, I'll work for myself and can then really rake it in. :P

The bad news is they want me to work as soon as possible after my old job terminates.
I'm gonna delay it as long as possible.

I need a break

All I can say is don't settle, the biggest factor in making money is entrepreneurship. If you have some ideas and some free time, you can definitely do something with it.

Just wanted to agree on the entrepreneur thing... I'm only 24 and I've been teaching Martial Arts for about 8 years. I decided in 2001 to do this as my profession and started teaching independent locations. I was making quite a bit for what I was doing. I still have a part-time job (I choose to because I enjoy it and it'* mainly to help my friends out that work there) at a CVS/Pharmacy Photo Lab. However, as of right now, I only teach on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, a grand total of 5 hours. I make anywhere between $500-$1500 every weekend for these 5 hours worth of what I love to do more than anything. Think what could be accomplished if I decided to do this full time? Keep in mind I'm only a third degree black belt (Not quite a Master yet).

I love it so much that I took the position of Area Director for the martial art that I teach (Tong Il Lo) at the beginning of the year so that I could assist other instructors in making their locations better/bigger/more profitable. Again, currently it only consumes about 5 hours of my weekend, and I have the whole week to do/accomplish other goals. I am currently attending school studying Anatomy & Physiology so that I may be more educated in my profession.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I only wish to demonstrate that if you have virtually any kind of trade or gift that you have learned over your lifetime, there are people out there who want to learn what you already know. At the very least there are people who will wish to utilize your talents. You simply charge them for your time (remember, your time is valuable) and you can build some additional wealth for yourself!

While I may not have gotten to know you very well, I do know through posts of yours I have read over time that you have a wonderful family and a good head on your shoulders. With these two things in mind, I believe you'll be able to accomplish anything, Paul.

Take a Vacation, drive out to the East coast, live it up a little while you've got the chance. Some people never get to.

I have an interview next Friday and two other consultants want me for an interview in Vancouver also.
Seems like I'm going to have a lot of choices.

The only caveat is I cannot take on any permanent full time work.......or I lose my continuance and blow my Pension.

But that'* OK. The work these guys want me to do is part time. Three days a week. They pay my travel and living out.

I told the guy today that I won't work for less than $70 an hour. :P

I am going to take a vacation.
I'm going to Oregon again to visit with Bill.
My last driving vacation this year in the Bonne. Expect me in three weeks Bill. The rain better hold off.

I'm planning a Florida and Carribean vacation for March too.
I was going to go to Arizona for Christmas but changed my mind. I'll do that next year.....on my way back east for a Trans America drive.

This new life is going to be good.

What isn't good right now is this fricken part throttle KR issue.
