The main thing is Paul, your vehicles are all paid off. Out here, you would land a job making at the MINIMUM 100,000 a year, however, its not cheap/
At 20 years old, my wish was to atleast RENT a place of some sorts, however, 45,000/year, what I make currently, Is not even enough, rent for some one room appartments here is 1500-2000/month. I know within the future I will be reloacting to somewere I can actually afford, I still gotta pay my car off too.
As said before, I'm sure you have some RRSPs put away for the distant future, say ten years.
Selling things are only a temporary fix, in the long run, you may need a secondary source of income to sustain yourself and your family.

Why not start a business? Many retirees take what they have learned over the course of their employment and put it to good use.
Ebay is another good avenue. Go to junkyards, look for parts that you KNOW people need. Do a search on Ebay for parts that you know you could find in a scrapyard and are fetching high prices on the site.
There is always the postal service

Been there. Done that.
I think I really am going to retire and enjoy life.
Remember Matt, that I already have a paid off house (except for taxes and upkeep) filled with all the goodies and paid off vehicles.
It should be quite easy for two to live off $45 K ..............at least I have to keep telling myself that.
The 1/4 Mill I have socked in investments will be my pad for later if things get tough.
In the meantime...............after Sept.30 I'm gonna kick up my heels and relax.
Think of the freedom. :P
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
WCBF07 HERE I COME.
READY TO PARTY
The only problem I forsee is keeping Laura and your daughter in the lifestyle that they have become accustomed to. I'm sure they will adjust.
You are a smart, analytical man and you will make the right decisions and do whats best for you and your family.
