New Computer
I just ordered a new computer. My old AMD 2500+ is getting tired and I need something that will multitask a lot better.
Here'* the guts of it:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor at 2.0GHz
CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit
ABIT KN8 SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
eVGA Geforce 6800GS CO SE 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
Thermaltake ATX 12V 550W Power Supply (SLI Certified)
It is a 'budget' performance system. It will have a ton of memory and processing power, but I'm sticking to a mid-level video card and will only run one for now. It is SLI capable but I don't play games as much anymore.

i used to use and buy Abit boards all the time for me and customers, but ever sense my last one i got for 939 socket, i hate them, and they are not getting as good reviews.
but everything else i like in your Specs

The board got really nice reviews, and the price was right.
From what I was reading a lot of the Asus/MSI/Gigabyte boards were having more issues with the X2 systems than the Abit, so I went with them.
I'm normally an MSI guy, but I decided to try something different.
