If you go to a dealer see if they will do a car fax for you , some do some won't but that will show you the history of the car and who owned it before than call up the old owner and ask for more info on the car if they had any problums and so forth .

If the gaskets and manifold haven't been replaced, just count on doing them. And also use it as a bargaining chip! And if they have, I'd ask for receipts.....then it'* one less thing to worry about (for a while anyway).
