the only thing "wrong" is that I put all lines in towards the center, the cut end is out. no biggie though

What type of tool did you use to punch down the wires on to the jack?

Better get the punch down tool. Network wires can be really picky. I've done it for years and even with teh tool it can still not work right.

plus the punch down tool trims off the ends, less chance for interferance.
