Nefarious Activity on the Web.
I don't know how many of you are aware of the new security measures Google has taken for it'* mail client, but I finally got my initiative to take action and start using them. The first feature warns you if someone from another location not likely to be you logs in to your account. I logged in this afternoon and saw that someone had recently logged into my account from Mexico. Whether this was a fluke or actually someone logging in, better safe than sorry. I always use extremely long passwords and practice safe internetting, but that alone is not good enough.
Google also offers 2 step verification either through an application for your android or other phone, or through text/voice messages. This adds an extra layer of security to keep unwanted people out. I have this enabled on my account and it'* hardly a nuisance. Once every 30 days you have to enter a code after logging in which is either texted to you or sent directly to your verification application. They also have you use separate one time use passwords for applications that connect to your Google account such as the android market, etc.
If you don't want someone snooping through your email, the time to act is now.

Before you go saying you are not concerned, think of all the information you have in your personal email. If it'* just a bunch of simple friendly correspondence, no big deal. What you have to look out for is those emails containing passwords, account numbers, or any other sensitive data. You know if they are crafty enough to steal your password, they also know exactly how to search for these things.

only thing i hate about google is they combined youtube and gmail.. so i had to create a gmail, and i dont even know how to log into youtube anymore.. i just have it always logged in on my own laptop.. makes it a pain to access my account from other computers. I dont use gmail I use hotmail so i see no need to have more than 1 email..
