Even though we don't have a witness on that document, I found an original document written in HER hand writing which was what I used to make the actual document, so in that respect it is way better than nothing.

You could take her to small slaims, OR have a yard sale to recoup as much of your lost assets as possible. At the very least, you'd get to make her cry and whine a little...

I would sue her and get a judgement against her. That original document in her handwriting is your money maker right there

i agree with Tracy... in the states, you can file a judgement against people - they may not even find out about it until they go to buy/sell a house. Actually, I think they have to own property for you to put a judgement against.

At anyrate... it'* women like Renee that give the rest of us a bad name.

I would recommned that you do this. Get your 10K. She'* starting to turn into a backstabber, you got a good clean car (yes, it'* a Malibu...), a now stablized environment, and a hot g/f. Might as well get some money out of it.

10K is A LOT of money, so if I were in your shoes I probably would go after it. You have the letter she signed. It won't be hard to get a judgement in your favor IMO. The harder part would be collecting the money. It sounds like she wouldn't be too cooperative about the whole situation.

If it were a much smaller amount I would honestly just cut the ties immediately. Drama with ex-g/fs is exhausting and can take its toll on current relationships. But $10K...that'* serious money, and I'm sure it would help you out tremendously. Hell, $10K would help anyone out tremendously!

Agreed, the only problem is, even after you go thru the process of small claims, its still nearly impossible to inforce, esp. when the person has no money. Suing people in Canada is not as common as it is in the US.

To be honest, you'll probably have to kiss the 10K g-bye....

Lemme know if you need anything more Mikey.

Yeah, Jim is right, I can spend time and $$ to bring her to court, for what, nothing. I even told her today that I already know that she isn't going to pay me back.

All I can do now is pay the car off as soon as I can and then I am done with it. Only another 9K to go on it, lol.

Go after the money, in a court that'll allow you to get it the fastest, whether it'* small claims, or the big guys.

She only has so many ways to drag it out, she can't make you wait 10 years. And even if she does, she may be liable for the interest on it then as well.

Frankly, she said she would, so make her. If you can get 5k you'll be ahead after fees by plenty. Maybe you can find a lawyer who doesn't take payment until you win, or after the case is over.

Her calls to you threatening repossessing your vehicle could be considered harassment. I'm guessing it wasn't provoked either.
