I stand with my hands behind my back. I really like every new jersey devil game I go to they recognize all serving men and women from any branch. They always get a standing ovation.
For me, since I'm Military, I have to stand at attention and put my hand over my heart. If in uniform, salute. If indoors, it'* the same as outdoors. If indoors AND in uniform, just stand at attention.
Rules are fun sometimes.
Them rules are crazy!!! Lots of them. But for the most part i stand and take my hat off.... IF anyone starts talking ill shoot them an evil glare and always make a comment to them after the playing of the anthem. I may not have served (medical reasons) bt im very patriotic i do have the flag perminantly on my back!

My mom is a school teacher where I'm from, and where I'm from we still say the pledge every morning, and pray before every function(sports, banquets, etc.). One day a kid decided he wasn't going to stand or say the pledge. She promptly told him to GTFO her class (in a nice way of course) and told him to go to the Principal'* office. Didn't write him up, just told him to spend the rest of the class time up there.
When she told me about it she told me that she also told him, "My son is fighting for our country, and because of that you WILL show proper respect." I then told her to not use my name like that, because I'm not only fighting for her right to say that to him, but I'm also fighting for the rights of him. In that case, being an inconsiderate little *****.

It'* great to hear that from you mouse. Yes everyone should respect our country and if they don't want to do that (sometimes I don't feel like I do) they can. I always stand for my friends and fellow countrymen that stare a a bullets edge everyday.
Was awhile ago when those kids didn't stand for the national anthem and caused a huge uproar that they got kicked out. My mom ask me. "Do you think they should have gotten thrown out?" I said no, I thought she was going to fall off her chair. That what we have the right to do if we want. But I did continue to say the situation should have become so hot and uncomfortable they might leave on their own.
