Sometimes it can be a real pain to find exactly what you're looking for but,I haven't had an RIAA doctored file yet

heres an update on my issue for anyone... I got all the licenses fixed. i guess napster released an update and i guess it was required to continue to use the songs... either way i got the update and i got everything working. I did a lot of other work too and am in the process of redoing the way i organize my music and deleating duplicate files... long process.

I hear they only come after you for sharing music, not downloading it. I girl I used to work with got tagged by the RIAA and it was a ~3K fine; the amount of the fine is based on haw many songs your sharing. Kazaa / Kazaa lite is terible for inserting spyware from the RIAA (which the RIAA pays them to do) in order to catch you. Their goal is 750 people a month.

yes, it is illeagle to share music, and i'm not sure about just downloading for personal use... it can't be legal but just not as illeagle. but because i DJ and make money with my music i try and keep it as legal as possible... with as many songs as i have if they where all illeagle and they got me i'd be up a creek big time! thats why i use napster, and it seems to do alright.

Yes, downloading music is also illegal, but much harder to document. It'* a lot easier, and more profitable, for them to go after the "distributors"

and with a lot of the peer to peer file sharing programs they come setup up to allow you to share your files, at least in the "shared" folder. you can opt to not share but you have to set it up for that. not everyone knows that.
