Default My Oregon Vacation (Pics)

It was not a fun one. Campsite didn't have full hook up, so we had to go to another one. The one we stayed at, we had to switch the 2nd day to a different site, clear across the campground. Weather was cold and crappy. Misqueto'* galore. This happend:

Couldn't diagnose anything wrong. Took the wheel off the rig after backing my boat into the water and it making an awful noise. Come to find out, the upper bolt that secures the brake caliper was completly missing and the bottom one was about to come out! :fire: Had to go into town, thankfully my parents had their surburban there since they had to haul down the travel trailer, and couldn't get the bolt from a NAPA. Went over the the Ford dealership in Astoria, finnaly got one there, and some lock tight to boot.

None-the-less, we REALLY looked like the white trash of the campground lol:

I was glad to catch it when I did before the whole damn assembly came off. I checked the other side, they were fairly secure, but tightend them up for peace of mind.

I had the rotors machined and installed new pads last January, and I know I put both of those bolts back in the assembly and made sure they were snug.

Just wanted to see if this was common, or if anyone had ran into the similar problem. Might be a good thing to check for anyone that hasn't ever looked at the caliper assembly.
But I did meet up with gonneviille on thurseday: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=60478

I'm glad to be home, but I have to go into work bright and early tommarow morning so I better get to bed soon. I'll leave everyone with some shots that include the BonnevilleClub Explorer:

My last pic. is kinda a crappy sun-going-down shot, but it also shows the rusting hull of the Peter Irondale:

Hey, John!
Sorry I haven't posted my pics yet, but I had to stop last night at a truckstop that didn't have a WiFi connection. I'll get around to them soon, but I'm kind of dealing with some baggage right now

I think I only remember seeing YOU with the blue gloves on. LOL

Nice pics BTW. Good thing you decided to check out the brakes before you didn't have any.

I wore the blue gloves once. :P

Nice pics John. Sorry the family vacation was not as enjoyable as you might have hoped.
It'* cold up here too. The ocean is like a huge intercooler.

Snug .....SNUG ......You really need to torque those bolts tight I always use never seize, not lock-tite.
Good thing you caught it in time.
