Your not going to see the real power of that CPU till you get a 64bit OS and 64bit drivers for your hardware... then its going to smoke basicly every thing else out there. Right now. its just a fast CPU.

I just got most of my parts for my new system, the only difference is I opted an Athlon XP 2500+ which normaly can be overclocked to be a 3200 rated CPU. (I'll probably have to unlock it but yea, I did that back on my old t-bird athlon) But I bet I got you beat on the monitor.... I got a 22" Mitsubishi DiamonPro for 266 bucks.... oh yeeeaa. I also got a 10k RPM serial ATA harddrive and a abit NF7-* wich has built in *-ATA RAID which I'll utilize when I get another couple *-ATA harddrives..... (I know computers 100x better than cars...for now...I'm getting more knoweldgeable on cars every day.)

300mbit SATA is the only thing faster then ata/66 really. Pretty sad. I'll stick with a P4 thank you.

My 1.3 pentium m is just as fast as my 2.26 P4...

May be, but therer aint an ATA-66 drive spinning at 10,000 RPMs either. that right there is were almost all the benefit comes from (that and the seriea ATA wire is only like 1/2 an inch wide..wich is just cool cause its like basicly not there when compared to a standard IDE cable.) I've never actually owned an intel chip either. Dont really plan to. I've always had good luck with AMD systems. (hell I used a K6-2 OCed 450 OCed to 500 for years before I got another sytem. wich was a really good one for its day. a 1Ghz Athlon OCed to 1.4 512MB DDR RAM, 2 40GB HDD in RAID 0 a Geforce2 Pro. I later upgraded it to a new Mother Board lost the raid (one of the drives died) and added a 1600 Athlon XP wich I've goten to reach 2200XP speed using an Alpha PAL 8045 heatsink.)

Careful with those fans. It'* been discussed many times. Adding too many can actually hurt airflow. Find a way to do away with at least half of those. You don't need to push AND pull the air at the same time Nothing gained by doing that. Other than that, it sounds great!

I used to follow the AMD and Nvidia path, but then I saw the light.
Praise Intel and ATI!

My new system will have an ATI 9800XT I like AMD because I like overclocking and generaly they are good for that. (that and they are cheaper for the most part) the intel chips are very good (i've never said other wise) but I just prefer AMD. Though I think they should have used the code names instead of athlon for their new CPUs.. The ClawHammer and the SledgeHammer... those could be marketed so well to younger people....

That NVidia 5700 is supposed to be a good card, but loud. Plan on upgrading the fan on it...

I got my parts today, put it together. This thing moves. The fastest PC I have ever built and or used!! Its amazing. I will post pictures tomorrow. Also all 12 fans are running and its so quiet. The thermo fans haven't gone full speed yet. When they do it will probably sound like a 747 taking off.
