Default Muscle Car'* best years?

Have three cars, the Mustang, Corvette, and Charger. What are some of the best years of those cars? And I want to stick before 1980.

I'm with him on this one. Best years really.

71 was a horrible year, A 454 vette had less then 200 hp.. Keep in mind that in 71, HP ratings went from SAE Gross, to SAE Net.

'71 had the 351 BOSS Mustang. It was the 351 Cleveland with a lumpy cam and BOSS heads. It ran a 13.8 1/4 mile bone stock and a 0-60 in 5.8 secs on a 3800 lb. chassis.

Torque
380@3400rpm

Horsepower
330@5800rpm

Compression
11.1:1

The only other cars that could keep up were big blocks, i.e.

Chevy Chevelle SS 454 LS6 13.65 454 ci
Corvette LS6 13.73 also a 454 ci
Dodge Charger R/T Hemi 13.75 426 ci
Firebird Trans Am HO 13.90 455 ci
Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air 14.90 455 ci

That was Ford'* last good year....
