Default American Muscle Car on Speed Channel

Was anybody watching American Muscle Car on Speed the other night when they did one of the 3800'* ancestors? It was an entire half hour show devoted to the Buick Grand Nationals and Turbo Regals of the mid 80'*. Great history of the GM 3.8 and some of its previous applications. Those Grand Nationals are hot, both in appearance and performance. Jet black with an aggressive stance. I'd totally drive one. Keep tuned in to Speed Channel, they may replay it sometime in the next couple of weeks.

The Turbo 3.8 is the grandfather of our engines.

I bow down to GN'*.

I personally would KILL to have even a T-Type.
The hierarchy I believe went: T-Type Regal, Grand National, Grand National Experimental.
The T-Type was a hell of a nice car, with great power, and fairly nice as a daily driver.
The Grand National was a beast, scads of torque, more powerful than most V8s of the time.
The GNX was, and still is, the Angry God of GM muscle, capricious and absolutely brutal.
It is the only car I've ever heard of with enough torque, STOCK, to twist the frame of the car.

I worked at an auction as a driver for a while and I've driven both the GN and GNX.
The GNX is absolutely the most terrifying car I've ever driven. It made the ZR1 look like a week-old kitten.

**** guys.. The Grand National is one badass car, and the body style is one of the sexier ones.. but I still think natural aspiration beats all, but i've never driven a turbocharged or supercharged car.. unless you think a 6.5L diesel counts for turbo'd..

The GNX is superior to almost anything. 0-60mph in 4.6sec and running 12s stock. Lets see that is better than the 90s Vipers, CTS spec-V, heck even Vetts except for the new C6 and Z06
