Default MS Office Sucks :: Open Office Is Free

My Engineering Professor showed us this today. Open Office is almost exactly like MS Office. It offers an equivalent program for each of MS Office programs.

for example
MS Word = Open Office Writer
PowerPoint = Open Office Impress

components listed here: Open Office

best thing is it FREE!!!

Its open source and legal just download it here on the website
http://www.openoffice.org/index.html

OpenOffice.org is free software

* you may download OpenOffice.org completely free of any licence fees
* install it on as many PCs as you like
* use it for any purpose - private, educational, government and public administration, commercial...
* pass on copies free of charge to family, friends, students, employees, etc.
It runs on almost any OS; Windows, Mac OS, Linux everything!
Its compatible with other formats; it can read and write in MS word format ect..

all the info is on the site!

Sorry for those who have already purchased MS Office, but next time you have to buy another copy of MS Office forget it. Here is a total replacement for MS Office for free

try it out

I just did a quick search, so I know some of you already know about it. Post some feedback here, I'm new to it but so far I'm liking this!

I now have a "free" MS Office too , but before that I was using Open Office. I loved it too.
Some of the functions in the word processing is different that Word, but the compatibility is awesome. Just make sure to save the document as a Word doc, or it won't open in word.
Learned that the hard way. I had word perfect ant home, ans word at school, and that wasn't good. Open Office saved the rest of the school year, and a ton of money.
