Thanks for looking
Ya know, I hate the "ricer fart pipe" as much as the next guy, but this is kind of ridiculous, especially in our state. We already have laws for loud exhaust, I've gotten tickets before for it and probably will in the future.
Its a police officers easiest ecuse to pull someone over & check them out anyway. My other car is a Grand Prix, and just a few weeks ago there was an Amber Alert out for a car similiar to mine. I was pulled over 3 times in one weekend with the excuse "my exhaust was too loud." The exhaust is actually new on my car, but it gave the police a reason to pull me over & check me out. We all knew what was happening every time! I'm not complaining about police at all, but if this bill passes and I wanted to be an idiot, I could spend everyones money suing for harassment because I have a little piece of paper that says I passed my decible test. The clear reasons to be against it it because you wont be able to put a Flowmaster on anything-be it a Civic, Bonneville, Camaro or Pinto. I restore old cars, its insane to think I can only have a stock exhaust on the 62 Bonneville I'm working on right now (ok, thats extreme, but ya know!).

What sense does it make to spend all kinds of money on measuring equiptment, people to install & service them, people to run them, ect. when this state cant afford to do anything? Geez, we have the highest unemployment rate in the USA, schools close daily due to lack of funds, any "new job growth" is someone getting a minimum wage job at Wal Mart, lets make the jobless people pay even more out of thier pockets! My 4th grader can handle money better than the State can.

Sorry about the rant! If you live in Michigan you understand

As long as you were to pass that test, theres nothing the state can do to ya. :P
As for this stupid law, along with what he said above about the jobs and schools, our states reserves and national guard are also one of the most underfunded in the country. Our vests we wear...date back to vietnam. Until about a month ago, they were going to send us to Iraq with those ****** things, they dont even have a damn plate in them and barely stop shrapnel from a hand grenade.

Im done, cause theres so much else wrong with this state.
