Default Memphis Tornado

Last night the Memphis area was hit by 6 tornadoes over a 5 hour period of time. North Mississippi and Eastern Arkansas got hit the worst. On my way to work, I entered a section of the city that was pitch black and a few cop cars had some side streets blocked off. I kept going down the street and turned onto the road my work is on. When I got there, I noticed 3 of the receiving bays where blown away and a mountain of boxes and pallets where thrown around. My friend Carl shows up 10 minutes later and we walk inside together and it looked like 100 pallets of freight exploded inside. I joked and said it looked like one hell of a party and Carl said lets go look out back. 7 more bays where blown in,a dozen trailers thrown around like a giant 3 year old was playing with them and the National guard plus every news crew in the area was there. Turns out 3 people got killed in my building last night when the roof gave way and lucky for me I got switched from nights to days last week. anyhow, I have some pics and the last one is the best.

Yikes. Makes me think twice about moving a state or 2 south to get away from the snow.

I guess I always thought tornadoes were kinda cool but I'm a little bit redneck and go outside to look in a tornado warning. Thats what happens when you live around them all the time.

We had sirens going off all night. It was a mess. We were fortunate that the majority went around us. I talked to a guy this morning that had baseball size hail

I don't regret living in the South because every area has some form of mass destruction.

Thank Goodness y'all are okay. When I heard about them I immediately tried to remember all of your screennames who live down there...thanks for checking in. Those pics are really amazing...gosh... I'll just keep shoveling up here and not complain about the ice.

I was told it will take about 2 weeks to clean up and almost a month to restore power to the area. The sub station was behind the building I work at. and it disappeared into thin air. Up until Wednesday, I thought twisters where cool and now I know first hand the destruction and pain they bring.
