so far the only good handling american car I have driven has been the lincoln LS.
Really? I'll have to test drive one to see this. Have you driven the Caddy STS V8? I recall C&D pitting that verses the LS and a few other near luxary cars and the Caddy out handled them all. Ford seems to be most behind in the modern muscle sedan era. They tried with the Mercury Marauder and that car was a joke. But as far as american near luxary goes the STS V8 owns that segment right now. If Ford improved on their Intech 4.6L DOHC to pump out 350+hp and put that in the LS it would compete better.

An 02 BMW M5 goes for 30-34K with average miles, according to KBB.com...

so, GM makes a new car that handles the same as a similarly priced BWM tuner sport sedan... and it'* not used. I know which I would buy.
