Mazdaspeed 6...
Test drove one on saturday, what a car!
The turbo had little > no lag, the power was on anytime, any gear. Cruising @ 40mph in 4th she'd get off quicker then a 12 year old at a strip joint. Interior is IMO one of the best in the class, certainly better than anything GM has to offer.
However I never got the hang of the engagement of the clutch, it definetly is different than any other std transmission i've driven. Only wet WOT once, getting on the freeway, and 2 gears later I was doing 75 DAMN quick.
Alicia (my salesperson with Walser) has found a GTI in their system to test as well, so can't wait for that. Sadly the Mazdaspeed3 is impossible to find, but it'* the same 2.3 Turbo 270 HP engine from the speed 6, in a car that weighs 2600lbs
Albeit it'* only FWD not AWD like the 6, and not quite as nice inside.
It'* gonna be fun to shop for a new car these next few months.

I have ALWAYS liked the Speed 6... I think it is a great looking car, and you just confirmed that the power is more than adequate.
But did I miss something? Are you done with the Bonnie?

My friend has a Speed 6 (which I learned to drive stick on) and it is sooooooooooo fun, he got some new wheels and we took it on the mountain highway (zig zaggy) at about 3am, cuttin corners at 80mph and breaking in his new tires. I had him go in my car ahead and spot for other cars. I gave him a 20min headstart and caught up in about 5minutes. (Of course, I had been driving stick for a few months at that point). I'll admit, the stick seemed like it had a smaller zone in which it engages compared to my bro'* and my friend'* pickups.
