Default This may be the break I have been waiting for

Just got off of the phone with my exwife. Turns out that someone called the state of Iowa on her and her *ahem* hubby for child abuse charges. I wonder who it could be???

Wasn't me. Karen says she didn't do it either. That leaves....my son'* half-sisters father (her 2nd husband...this is doubtful, but possible), the 3rd husbands ex-wife (from the sounds of things, entirely possible), or the school system (again, entirely possible).

From the research that has been done on this, the ONLY way she would get a letter in the mail is if she had to go to court over it. And in abuse cases, the worker would make a surprise visit instead of sending out a letter. SO...I'm thinking that this has been going on for a bit, and she...failed to tell me.

Thoughts? For those close to me, they know I have been waging a silent war on getting my son full-time. These same people also know that I can provide for my son much better in every respect than she can. So this may very well be my chance.

The plot thickens.

I called Iowa, more specifically the local office to her. The lady I was talking to was wonderfully helpful, surprisingly. She looked for my ex in the computer, then look for my son. No records exist at all I then asked if there may be any open in regards to the new husband. She couldn't tell me directly for confidentiality reasons, but she did say that nobody in her computer had the last name I gave them.

Somethin'* fishy.

They may have pulled or blocked the records for the investigation.

did you call the precint.. because if you did and they were not physicaly arrested by the precint then they would have no record of them on file..

if it were papers just sent to her or a social worker that might have went to her house then there would be no record of them in the local precint'* computer system.. you would have to call your local child welfare agency untill you find the right one..

and i hope all works out for you man.. not sure what you going thru but keep your head up and i wish you the best of luck.. just keep a cool head thru all of this no matter what and let the EX do all the screaming and looking childish and unfit.

Here in NY Child Services is handled at the County level and the state mandates a visit within 24hrs of the initial phonecall , which can anonymous. They have their own case worker/investigators and do not use the police until someone needs to be charged/arrested/removed from the premises...

You might want to just look up the number for your area and speak with them. I doulbd any other local agency would know of any of their investigations.

I forget exactly what the name of the motion is but if you dig up a nice laundry list I believe it is called something to the affect of "To show cause" or something along those lines. It will bypass the courts should it be approved and they will basically take your son from them and place him right into your custody and then go through the courts afterwards. I did it today. Good luck though. If you need any advice I been going through this for almost 4 years and finally caught a break. Laws may be different in your area but they are all generally the same regarding children. Feel free to PM me.
