No, I don't mean people like that. I'm talking about people that are millionaires or a guy like in the story who owns multiple properties that he rents. They always seem to be the ones complaining that they don't have enough.

Or it'* just that they are the ones capable of making the statements that some of us only think of making... Renting property isn't really that great of a business anyways...

I wonder if they would let me pay traffic tickets in person that way?

I think they are required to accept any form of legal tender. Give it to them in pennies.

I would have video'd that. If they refuse your cash payment, in any form, the law says the bill is now paid. Thats why these agencies HAVE to accept it and count it all in front of you (typically).

About 10 years back someone paid the IRS something like $10k .. all in pennies. The downside is YOU have to be present during the entire counting; so be prepared to spend the day there.

thats actually true. i happened to learn it from a college professor. he explained that the reason cash MUST be accepted is due to the fact that on money the words "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private" so refusing to accept dollar bills and coins isn't allowed.

That'* awesome!

Apparently there are laws in Canada which allow people to refuse this sort of payment. There was a news segment not long ago which spoke about people trying to pay debts with things such as pennies.
