make the wife or the ssei happy?
Well...maybe that is not a very fair title for the thread....here is the situation....I have put together a plan to come up with at least 4-5K $ by the time I get back...some of you have been so kind as to help me come up with performance mod Ideas for the SSEi....well....the wife likes that idea...she is even gone so far as to seguest we stash some more cash and get some paint work done (she wanted PINK ghost flames
talked her out of that one lol) but now I get this from her on the phone;
Her: "What about the Chevy?" (1972 4 door chevelle, all origanal, 350, some rust on the corner panels, but in good shape...and runs strong altho I have realy not put any work into it.)
Me: what about it?
her: what are you going to do with it?
me: well....it can stay in the mortan building untill we move back home (after army)
her: well....can I have it?
me: you want it?
her: Yeah, and you can fix it up for me.
Did I just lose my mod money?
What is going on here?
Should I get out of this? I would like to keep the chevy as stock as I can...or at least that was the plan....
if this sounds like a situation I need to bail my self out of, someone please give me a seguestion....
guess its my own fault for teaching her to love cars and see thier potential...
10 yrs of marrage and I still dont get women....

Women are easy to buffalo, carwise. Give it a tuneup, Bondo and paint bomb the fender rust, put in an airfresher and get her some pink seat covers. Then it'* time to call Intense........She cant get in the lounge......right? HeHeHehe....
remind her that the work on the chevy will take a year or two so in the mean time fix up the Bonneville to tool around in. You might even have to add in that since it will be her car, she'll have to help in fixing her up. That might get you moving on the right track again.
The blood and sweat you put into a car is what really makes you love her in the end.

I'll be against the grain here, but I would put the money into the Chevelle because old cars are fun. Old cars do nothing but go up in value, especially if you fix it up. The SSEI will only depreciate. The only problem is the Chevelle is a four door, so you will be hard pressed to get a whole lot of money out of it if you sell.
The other thing is that in the future, you can remind her how you fixed up the Chevelle for HER, putting her before yourself. That might get you extra brownie points so you can put even more into the SSEI if you have the money later.

Wow, I'd just be happy to have a wife who will put money into any car.
I vote make her happy first, then you can do whatever you want.
If you do your own thing first, she'll never let you enjoy it.
