see now the problem with the S1 intercooler [aside from the obvious] is that i drive a s2. why would i want her to make something i couldnt use?

ideally this should be something relatively simple with little/no moving parts. something that the ins and outs are completely known, with a schematic available.

this isnt to stretch her mind, its just to give her more experience using the metal shop.

i mentioned headers earlier, would that be a good idea or a bad idea, given the materials and her own prowess? intake?

something slightly more complicated maybe, but with schematics/drawing available?

notice where the focus is.

*EDIT: please note that this is in the lounge. i put it here because any bonneville related discussion is purely incidental, the focus is on relatively simple mechanical engineering projects.

also, i didnt say anything about tb, because i dont know anything about tb [like, at all].

What are our material and operation options? Milling, bending, cutting, welding... flat sheet, billet, tube..?

procedures: milling, cutting, lathing, welding, possibly bending

materials: whatever the machining shop has on hand and whatever we buy. flat sheet, billet, tube are all acceptable.

Have her make what looks to be a scale model of a L67 engine. Just some little 6" long moch up. Not working of functional in any way, just neat to look at.
