Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

Looking for projects for a mechanical engineer-to-be.

ideally this should be something relatively simple with little/no moving parts. something that the ins and outs are completely known, with a schematic available.

this isnt to stretch her mind, its just to give her more experience using the metal shop.

i mentioned headers earlier, would that be a good idea or a bad idea, given the materials and her own prowess? intake?

something slightly more complicated maybe, but with schematics/drawing available?

notice where the focus is.

*EDIT: please note that this is in the lounge. i put it here because any bonneville related discussion is purely incidental, the focus is on relatively simple mechanical engineering projects.

also, i didnt say anything about tb, because i dont know anything about tb [like, at all].

procedures: milling, cutting, lathing, welding, possibly bending

materials: whatever the machining shop has on hand and whatever we buy. flat sheet, billet, tube are all acceptable.

Have her make what looks to be a scale model of a L67 engine. Just some little 6" long moch up. Not working of functional in any way, just neat to look at.
